Kids & Adolescents (Ages 4 to 12 years)

In children, development in one area, can strongly influence that in another. Child psychology works with children and adolescents too diagnose and help resolve issues causing emotional or behavioural problems, such as learning disabilities, attention deficit disorder, hyperactivity, anxiety and depression. The therapy sessions focus on working towards an optimistic future, developing coping methods, as well as boosting self-esteem, self-confidence, and other positive states and traits in children using tools, like play therapy, behavioural therapy and expressive therapy.

Adolescents & Teenagers (Ages 13 to 24 years)

Adolescence is a time of great change for teens, not to mention everyone involved in their lives. It's important for teenagers to develop an identity and independence. At this same time, they face growing pressure to be responsible and trustworthy while they grapple with issues like sexuality, drug use, and peer relationships. Teenagers going through this transition, think, feel, and behave differently than they do either as children or as adults. These areas can be seen in areas of development. Adolescent psychology aims to work through these key issues, and resolve these experiences in positive ways.

Adults

Individual psychotherapy is a collaborative counselling process that requires the client's willingness to co-operate. The greater your ability to share frankly with your psychotherapist, and be open to change, the greater the results. While the client does most of the talking, the therapist acts as a mirror, reflecting your unconscious process, helping you see the self-defeating thoughts that may be blocking your growth, and helping you heal from traumas. While the emotional work involved is not always easy, the effect can be hugely beneficial. With the right guidance and encouragement, the benefits are often lifelong.

Couples: Relationship & Marriage Counselling 

Even if life at home is relatively peaceful, couples state that they have nothing in common anymore. The result is often that couples lead a disappointed or resentful co-existence, each with their own interests. The product then becomes a marriage of convenience or an arrangement they endure, "for the sake of the children".

Shattered dreams, whatever form they take, are painful, but there is hope because this process is part of the healthy development of every relationship.  Understanding your own and your partner's wounding, will prevent re-wounding, which is unknowingly triggering old feelings and behaviour. The key to healing lies in this awareness and building from a basis of trust.

Burnout, Anxiety and Depression are so interlinked, and once you present, with any of these symptoms, your mental and physiological state are already at risk. These symptoms, result in complete mental and physical exhaustion, overwhelming feelings of hopelessness and debilitating feeling of not being able to cope, these feelings eventually lead to a complete breakdown. If at any point you experience, any of these symptoms, it's time to seek the necessary professional advise and treatment.
